Problem
Language is a part of culture, they influence one another. We can never learn the culture of a community if we do not the language. The three major languages in Nigeria namely, Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa, are on the verge of extinction. It has been predicted that in the next 50 years, igbo language spoken by 20 million Nigerians will go into extinction.
Solution
In reaction to this problem, i developed a typeface that supports the three major Nigerian languages, Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa intending to help mitigate issues with extinction. This typeface contains all necessary accent marks and diacritics. This typeface comes with patterns that carries historical narratives with cultural importance.

In order to further prevent extinction, i created some patterns that will work alongside with the typeface. Although the patterns can function alone.
The inspiration from creating the patterns was drawn from monuments with rich Nigeria culture. The momuments will circle around historic buildings, cultural beliefs, lifestyle, music and food.
I chose fluorescent colors as choice for the pattern designs. These colors speak the language of youth. They are bold, vibrant and impossible to ignore. These colors don't just catch the eye, they pulse with energy and tap into the rythm of culture.
